Elegantly restyled villa and terraced garden in the heart of the Amalfi coast.
Location and Surrounding Area. Positano has been home to intellectuals, artists and the international elite who have wandered up and down the picturesque labyrinth of stone steps and pastel-coloured houses for centuries. The town today offers sophisticated shopping, charming restaurants, stunning views, several glamorous beaches and, of course, lemons in every shape and size! Positano is ideally positioned at the centre of the Amalfi coast, halfway between Sorrento and Amalfi itself; so besides being a town of great interest, it is also the perfect starting point for excursions discovering this entire area of outstanding beauty, which can be explored by boat, by car, on foot and even by vespa!
Furore is one of the lesser-known gems of the Amalfi coast. This colourful little fishing village of only 800 inhabitants is notable for its unusual natural fiord, a rock face leading down to the beach with a cluster of old houses built against it; and which also hosts an annual high diving competition attracting some of the world’s top divers.
For lovers of hiking, the Amalfi coast offers one of the most breath-taking walks in the whole of Italy, the suggestively named ‘Sentiero degli Dei’ (the Path of the Gods). This 7,8km walk along a marked path is a three-hour downhill stroll taking in the spectacular scenery of the coastline from Agerola to Nocelle, just outside Positano; a must for all nature lovers wishing to absorb the atmosphere of this magical corner of Italy at a slow pace.
The Property. Il Fico d’India is a charming two-story villa set in a beautiful panoramic terraced garden. Just 30 steps below the coastal road, and 2 km from the centre of Positano, the property has recently been entirely renovated and restyled, combining elegance with the finest comfort and modern amenities. Surrounded by ancient olive and lemon trees, the villa boasts stunning sea views and traditional architecture and furnishings, including local tiles glazed in the typical Mediterranean colours, and beautiful Neapolitan terracotta floors made of local clay. A stay in the relaxing comfort of the Villa Il Fico d’India, admiring endless sea views and basking in the warm sunshine of the Amalfi Coast, is the perfect way to regenerate the soul!
The ground floor boasts a spacious, open-plan living and dining room with comfortable sofas, a flat-screen satellite TV, a fireplace, a fully-equipped kitchenette and a dining table seating up to eight. On the ground floor there is also a Queen bedroom with direct access to a panoramic terrace and en-suite bathroom with a large shower. The first floor of the villa includes a King bedroom with direct access to a panoramic balcony and en-suite bathroom with a large shower and two Queen bedrooms, each with direct access to a panoramic balcony and a shared bathroom with shower.
Getting There: Positano is 2 km away from the villa, Amalfi is 20 km and Sorrento 16 km. The international airport of Naples is at a distance of 62 km, a 90-minute drive.
